SOUTH TANGERANG, August 29, 2026 – The Development Economics Study Program at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, held its Academic and Student Culture Introduction (PBAK) event on Saturday (August 29) at the FEB Building, UIN Jakarta Campus 3.

Carrying the theme "Building a Generation of Economists who are Intelligent, Adaptive, and Sustainability-Oriented," the event—initiated by the Development Economics Student Association (HMPS)—aimed to equip new students with a comprehensive understanding of academic culture, the academic system, and student life.

The event was officially opened by the Organizing Committee Chair, Citra Alifia Saroyah, followed by remarks from the HMPS Development Economics Chairperson, Muhammad Azka Khalaf. In his address, he emphasized the importance of rapid adaptation for new students so they can maximize their potential throughout their studies on campus.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Development Economics Study Program, Dr. Arief Fitrijanto, M.Si., who served as a speaker in the first session, stated that the event was designed to provide a complete understanding of the study program's educational system.

"We hope that new students will not only become familiar with the physical academic environment but also understand the academic mechanisms, regulations, and challenges they will face. This way, they can prepare themselves from the very beginning," said Dr. Arief Fitrijanto.

During the main dialogue session, the first presentation was delivered by Dr. Arief Fitrijanto, M.Si., as the Head of the Study Program, alongside Rr. Tini Anggraeni, S.T., M.Si., a lecturer in the Development Economics Study Program.  Both speakers provided a comprehensive overview of the academic system, curriculum, and academic culture at FEB UIN Jakarta.

The second session featured two accomplished alumni, Muhammad Fikri Apriliansyah, S.E., and Royhan Fadillah, S.E. They shared their experiences regarding personal development during their university years, strategies for overcoming academic challenges, and preparations for entering the professional world.

The event, which ran from 09:00 to 11:30 WIB, also included an introduction to the board members of the Development Economics Student Association (HMPS EP), a screening of the "after-movie" from the Class of 2026 New Student Welcoming event, and the announcement of the "King & Queen EP 2026." The proceedings concluded with a group photo session involving all participants and organizers.

The enthusiasm of the Class of 2026 new students was evident as they followed the event attentively. The activity received full support from various parties, including funding from UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta and the HMPS EP Fundraising Division, with a total budget of IDR 926,000 (nine hundred twenty-six thousand rupiah).

Through this orientation program (PBAK), it is hoped that new students will embark on their academic journeys well-prepared and grow into an intelligent, adaptive, and sustainable generation amidst ever-evolving economic dynamics.(hmp ep)
