Jakarta, August 28, 2025 More than a thousand new students from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah are preparing to plant 1,000 trees in the FEB building area on Ibnu Sina Street. This tree-planting initiative serves as a concrete demonstration of the new students' support for UIN Jakarta's green campus program and also forms part of the third day of the Academic and Student Life Orientation Program (PBAK).
Shafira, a new student from Tambun Bekasi who brought a gold dracaena tree, expressed her delight at being able to contribute to the green campus program. “I am very happy that on the third day of PBAK, I can participate in the greening program by bringing just one tree,” said the graduate of a vocational school in East Jakarta. Meanwhile, Syauqi, a new student from Jatinegara, brought a bamboo tree as proof of his presence. “I brought a bamboo tree for the tree planting activity as part of this PBAK,” said Syauqi, who left home after the dawn call to prayer.
Ilham Yoga, Chair of PBAK 2025, said that the new students' activity of planting 1,000 trees was an effort to instill a spirit of love for the environment and FEB's support for the green campus program. “This New Student Tree Planting Activity is a manifestation of instilling a spirit of environmental love and our efforts to support the UIN green campus program,” said Yoga. The trees brought by the new students will be collected and symbolically planted in the FEB Building area on Ibnu Sina Street. (AC)
