SOUTH TANGERANG, June 13, 2026 – The Master’s Program in Islamic Banking (MPS) at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta successfully held a Workshop on Completing Studies on Saturday, June 13, 2026. The event was held in person at the FEB Campus Building on Jalan Ibnu Sina and was attended by faculty leadership, program administrators, and MPS students from the class of 2025.
Also present at the event was the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of FEB UIN Jakarta, Dr. Sofyan Rizal, who officially opened the event. In his remarks, he provided profound motivation and emphasized the importance of commitment, time efficiency, and well-thought-out research strategies so that students can complete their master’s studies with optimal results without delaying graduation.

The Head of the Master’s Program in Islamic Banking, Dr. Muhajirin, ME.I, stated in a separate statement that this event is a concrete manifestation of the program’s commitment to supporting students. He emphasized that this workshop was specifically designed to provide technical, tactical, and administrative guidance to help and motivate students to complete their coursework on time (within four semesters).
The core agenda of this workshop consisted of a comprehensive presentation on the Roadmap for Graduation from the MPS, delivered clearly by the Program Secretary (Sekprodi), Ady Cahyadi. In his presentation, he explained in detail the academic timeline, credit load, and competency achievement targets per semester that every student must meet to ensure a measurable graduation.

The program’s curriculum is systematically organized into the following key stages:
1.    Semester 1 (15 credits): Focuses on strengthening core academic foundations, contemporary Islamic commercial law, Islamic banking management, and quantitative/qualitative research methodologies.
2.    Semester 2 (15 credits): Specialization in competencies through required program courses and elective courses that support career interests and research topic plans.
3.    Semester 3 (16 credits): Entering the core research phase, which includes the Thesis Proposal Seminar Exam (4 credits), Thesis Work in Progress (6 credits), and the requirement to publish a scientific paper (6 credits) in a reputable national or international journal.
4.    Semester 4 (8 credits): The final stage involves completing the full thesis manuscript and conducting the Thesis Defense to earn the Master of Economics (M.E.) degree.

Following the roadmap presentation, the event continued with a highly dynamic interactive discussion and Q&A session. The Class of 2025 students actively sought advice on various technical aspects, ranging from academic bureaucracy and tips for getting published in scientific journals to the process of drafting proposals after completing their theoretical coursework.
The series of events concluded warmly with a group photo session featuring the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, the program management team, and the entire class of 2025, symbolizing the synergy and collective commitment to producing outstanding, competitive, and timely graduates of the Master’s in Islamic Banking program.
