To Strengthen Data Literacy, the Faculty of Economics and Business at UIN Jakarta Explores a Strategic Partnership with the Central Statistics Agency of South Tangerang City

Ciputat, April 28, 2026 – In an effort to improve the quality of academic research and data literacy among students, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Prof. Dr. Ibnu Qizam, M.Si, received a working visit from representatives of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of South Tangerang City. The meeting took place in a warm atmosphere on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, in the Dean’s Office, 2nd Floor, FEB Building, Jalan Ibnu Sina.
The meeting was attended by the leadership of FEB UIN Jakarta, including the Dean of FEB along with the Head of the Development Economics (EP) Study Program, Dr. Arief Fitrijanto, and another FEB lecturer, Ady Cahyadi. From the South Tangerang City BPS, the delegation was represented by Mr. Adam and Mr. Akif.

The main agenda of this meeting was to foster closer institutional ties and explore strategic cooperation in the fields of education and statistical data. The primary focus of this initiative is the plan to establish the “FEB UIN Jakarta Statistics Corner.”
“This Statistics Corner is intended to serve as an integrated data access center for FEB UIN Jakarta students. We recognize that the need for accurate primary and secondary data is crucial for students, particularly when preparing their final projects. With the Statistics Corner, we hope students will be able to more easily access valid data from BPS to enhance the quality of their research and economic analysis,” said the Dean.

The South Tangerang City BPS welcomed the initiative. Mr. Adam and Mr. Akif expressed their full support for this collaboration as a manifestation of the BPS’s commitment to supporting the education sector through the provision of transparent and scientifically accountable data.
In addition to the launch of the Statistics Corner, the meeting also discussed other potential collaborations, such as student internships, guest lectures, and the involvement of BPS practitioners in enriching the curriculum at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of UIN Jakarta.
Both parties agreed that this cooperation is a concrete step toward bridging the gap between government statistical data and research needs at the university level, which is expected to have a positive impact on improving the quality of graduates as well as the contribution of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UIN Jakarta to national and regional economic development.
